when to post on social
Social media changes daily and it is our job to keep up with the trends and tricks to achieve maximum reach and engagement. There are many questions as to what to post, when to post, and how often. Each platform will vary in each area.  First, let’s start with what to post. On every social media site, you may find different content or the same content rearranged. A few ideas of content to post across the board would be as follows.

  • Reminders
  • Announcements
  • New Products or Services
  • Holiday Related Content
  • Tips & Tricks

Before posting any content on your social media platforms, ask yourself a few questions. Is my content visually appealing? Will my ideal customer find it interesting? If you answered yes to these questions, your content is as good as gold. Next, let’s tackle when to post. As stated above each platform will vary. The best times to post on the common social media platforms are as follows:

  • Pinterest: 7pm – 12am
  • Facebook: 1 – 4pm
  • Instagram: anytime except 3 – 4pm
  • Twitter: 12 – 3pm

Looking at these times, they may seem odd but remember the goal is to reach as many people as possible and these hours will maximize your reach if followed. Lastly, the remaining question of how often we are supposed to post in order to gain the maximum amount of reach is:

  • Pinterest: 20-25 times per day
  • Facebook: 2-5 times per day
  • Instagram: 1-3 times per day
  • Twitter: 5-7 times per day

As you look at the amount of posts, some numbers may be intimidating. Do not get discouraged. Social media is important to your business and with these few questions answered you will be able to reach the maximum amount of customers which in turn will grow your business. Build a goal and follow it with these tips in mind, and the rest will fall into place. Before you know it, you will be a social media guru!
